First off I would like to thank everyone for checking out our website! Also I can’t believe it’s finally here, the week of release! I’m so excited I don’t know what to do…I can’t wait any longer haha! I’m sure everyone is really excited for this movie. Now on to the article!

In a recent interview Tom Hardy told reporters that he based his Bane accent on “King of the Gypsies”. Just so you know who this person was he was an Irish Traveller who was the undefeated champion of bare-knuckle boxing in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Tom Hardy was quoted saying this:

The choice of the accent is actually a man called Bartley Gorman, who was a bare knuckle fighter. A Romani gypsy. Which I wanted to underpin the Latin, but a Romani Latin opposed to Latino. His particular accent is very specific, which was a gypsy accent. So that’s why it was difficult to understand. But once you tune into it, you get it. I hope.

I don’t think we will have anything to worry about Mr. Hardy, I know for myself that I have been able to understand you since the first trailer. See the epic conclusion in theaters at midnight on Thursday July 19th and in theaters everywhere July 20th.
