It’s official: Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder and Argo scribe Chris Terrio have completed the script for Justice League. It’s interesting to note that (so far, at least) this will be the first DC Cinematic Universe film to not have David Goyer on board as a credited screenwriter. The last DC superhero movie not at least co-written by Goyer was Superman Returns back in 2006. Snyder has also done their own fair share of storyboarding, almost literally mapping out the further DC Universe. “Chris and I would talk and I would talk and I would draw and it was basically this weird mural of the movies with no words,” Snyder said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
At the same time, more details were dropped for 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, including details on a couple specific scenes. While these are mild spoilers, they are spoilers nonetheless, so be warned.
The first scene that is talked about is the one we all know by now: the rainy rooftop brawl between Batman and Superman. According to EW, it’s a pretty savage brawl, with the two superheroes “throwing each other through walls and skylights.”

They also detailed a more quiet, political scene where Bruce Wayne discusses his motives for taking on Superman to a skeptical Alfred. His reasoning “weighs the morality of a preemptive strike on Superman with even the minimal chance of humanity’s destruction.”
Snyder also let it slip that during the film’s planning stages, Metallo would have been the central villain and that Brainiac had been discussed. “I remember talking about ‘What’s the next villain?'” the director told the magazine. “‘We can’t do another alien invasion.’ Brainiac was definitely down the road. Metallo, I think, was going to be the main bad guy of this movie.”
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice explodes the DC universe in a way that has never been seen on the big screen. In addition to Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, the film also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. It opens on March 25, 2016.
