Who’s your favorite Batman? There are certainly several to pick from; Keaton, Kilmer, Bale to name a few. With each version we get, the character seems to carry a little more grit. Sometimes, this is due to the story being based in a more lifelike reality (The Dark Knight trilogy), and other times because Batman represents the solemn yet hardened character within the film (Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice). These versions, however, would not exist without the campy, fun-filled version delivered to us by Adam West.  West served as the caped crusader on the Batman television show which aired from 1966 to 1969, alongside his trusty partner Robin, played by Burt Ward.

Adam West was in attendance for a panel at Megacon 2016, and informed the audience that he and Burt Ward currently have a special Batman project in the works. While he couldn’t give any firm details on it, CinemaBlend was able to get this quote from him:

“Well, I have a gag order…However… No no, me and Burt have been working on a new project that’s just gonna knock your socks off, and believe me, it’s our Batman and Robin!”

West and Ward may have dawned their capes for the last time back in 1969, but they have remained in the Batman limelight in the years since. Besides being featured in a number of documentaries regarding their time on the cult classic show, Adam West and Burt Ward also started in the 2003 television movie Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt.

While we don’t know yet if this new Batman and Robin project, starring the original dynamic duo, will be in the same vein as their last television appearance, it should be safe to assume that it will be something special for Batman fans all around.
