Hey Matt i remember the lengthof your PodCast s in the early days we could of used an Intermission then LOL = ) I consider myself a hardcore Batman fan but even i thought TDK was slightly to long, in hind sight i could live without the Reese sub plot ! As for Catwoman s sex appeal being used for marketing , i feel sorry for the poor stunt woman who s ass that realy is Hathaway s it is not and she is going to steal all the thunder !, well even if anyone else doesnt i applaud you stunt woman = ) Finaly by all logic all Batman fans should hate Batman Beyond but i LOVE it ! I think Adam said it best its a great What If ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnh8mGUpeBg

Rob Dougan is the man! I’ve been listening to him since i was 12. If Dougan would do music for a Batman movie I would be so thrilled. Alas, he’s been MIA. I honestly thought that Reese would have become the next Riddler. Nice vid. You think we need an intermission? Maybe…we’ll see.

    • http://www.darkknightnews.com Matt Galvin

Ha! Ebo your right at 1 hour and 40 this one could have used totally used an intermission, 4sure. Batman Beyond is awesome and ahead of it’s time, So Rob Dougan is an appropriate fit for that video. Finally, I know it’s not Nolan it’s marketing and I can’t complain about the exploiting of Catwoman’s sex appeal (she sexy it works). Marvel does it too, Hollywood is giving the fanboys what they want. However it is a tad silly that most of all the toys and promo art we’ve seen show it off or highlight “dat ass” and yes it is a tad sexist…So, I’m torn the logical side of me is like that’s not right it’s sexist, the guy side of me is like “this is some good adverting” ;)

    • Chsox203

HaHahAha,,, Dude i agree, the whole Reese thing was pointless!

    • One-Eyed Willie

I don’t get the “all logic” part… i think just the opposite: all the Bat fans love Beyond! It’s a terrific show! I fucking love it and a Beyond live action movie would be so cool!

      • Kristina

Who would play Terry? Could you think of an old Bruce actor?

        • One-Eyed Willie

Of course! I’d love to see Mickey Rourke as an old Bruce! And for Terry, well… there is a plenty of young talented actors around. Even JGL, if he wasn’t in TDK…

I understand that you guys are expecting a more commercial director for the reboot, but remember that Nolan had only had done Following, Memento, and Insomnia before Batman Begins. Plus, for the Spider-Man reboot they got a guy who had really only made a middling hipster rom-com! I think that Aronofsky would have got the gig, but his and Miller’s Year One script was way too brutal. Hopefully WB keep their eyes out for someone with definite talent rather than a fair director who will be able to segue Batman into a (probably not very good) Justice League movie.

    • Kristina

You want to see a Justice League live action? What you’re saying is true about Nolan, but he is rare director to find. Plus, what came w/ Nolan is a whole team of ppl who helped make TDK image possible. Very rare to find a director w/ a team like that unless it is also David Fincher.

      • Chsox203

That would be amazing to see the great Chris Nolan tackle Justice League. If so it wouldn’t be for a while, Nolan likes to take his time with his films and do his research for his projects.

        • Kristina

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY AND THE PRODUCER OF MAN OF STEEL, COMES …JUSTICE LEAGUE BEGINS! IN 2025! LMAO!

          • One-Eyed Willie

            I’d add 10 years on that: 2035! As a guarantee! =D

          • Kristina

I’d walk w/ a cane to go see a Batman movie. Whacking kids to be quiet. LOL! Good times!

          • One-Eyed Willie

ROTFLMAO! Hey, it’s very rare to find a hardcore Batman fangirl around! Cheers to that!

        • One-Eyed Willie

I don’t think Team Nolan would be the best choice for JL. I’d prefer to see another creative team with Nolan producing, just like in Man of Steel.

          • Chsox203

yea very true i can see your point, Snyder fits well with Superman and in order to do a JL you would need a very visionary director and he fits it well!

  • NicKothe

I dont get why everyone is so excited about this movie. It’s such a fail with small impossible to understand Hardy. He’s like 5’7 i could beat him up

    • Adam Prince

      lmao !

    • Chsox203

      I smell a Troll.

  • RSCAR

Loved the latest podcast and hopefully we get the trailer soon. Do you think Bruce is captured(In the beginning of the film) and brought to that prison because Bane’s plan is to kidnap Gotham’s upper class? And do you think Bruce after breaking out of that prison, he becomes Batman again? Thanks!!!

    • Kristina

A good valid theory there. From Nolan’s world, that would predictable story telling. I do base this off the fact that Nolan was almost unpredictable with The Dark Knight. I think that everyone is hoping for a similar thing for The Dark Knight Rises.

Bruce will be in prison why he is there I don’t know, but I can theorize with you on this; I think he’s undercover in the prison and Bane finds out about it then beats Bruce to a pulp. This could be from the fact that Bruce allowed himself to be kidnapped by Bane’s men b/c he’s one of Gotham’s elite. It’s a good valid theory.

    • One-Eyed Willie

It’s likely, but i’ve some questions about this theory. 1- How they would arrange such a behemothic logistic effort to kidnap and transfer the upper class to another part of the world.? 2- If Bruce was caught, then can we assume that Bane knows he is Batman? Or the “breaking” part comes later of these events?

      • Kristina

Good questions. 1. The elite are very few about a 100 at least. Bane has tons of ppl working for him. This could explain a bit on kidnapping. A plane can hold about 200 ppl, an airline plane.
        2. It is safe to assume Bane knows who Batman is from their body language according to the comics. The breaking part is mysterious
b/c we don’t know when the breaking might happen. Early or later in the movie, either way it’s happening.

        • One-Eyed Willie

Yeah, i agree. But it leads to another question: what would be the role of the federal govt in that story?? I can’t imagine a big fat terrorist coming in and out in an airplane, with american citizens shoved inside, any time he wants, you know? How come Gotham will be that sieged, without U.S. military intervention?? TA-DAAAA

          • Kristina

Deeper into the pits, we shall go. You can get around that, Bane has tons of ppl working for him. I believe even in the federal gov’t. Bane is the lesser version of Ras Al Ghul in my opinion for this movie. Also, when seizing a city it’s hush hush in Bane’s case. He’s organized, he has everything planned to a tee. The prologue showed that when they had him on the plane. He’s extremely intelligent and can elude anyone. You can get away with kidnapping ppl w/o anyone knowing if you have your ppl spread all around to help your cause. Faith can take fellowers very far. As long as you’re their icon to them. In the prologue, the fellower dies on the plane willingly, that’s extreme faith and devotion to the cause and to Bane. The federal govt’s role in the movie would be the fact they failed in capturing him showing how much of a big deal Bane is. Like he’s a federal issue with a huge network of fellowers.

          • One-Eyed Willie

Huh… ok… i think i can buy that… we’ll see… we’ll see! Wow, you’re an imaginative girl… we can continue this stuff for hours! Nice! But hey, excuse my english… it isn’t my mother language.

          • Kristina

You have great interesting questions. We’re both fans so we can go for days on a conversation about Batman just get the coffee. Which language do you speak?

          • One-Eyed Willie

We must hurry up with the theories, ’cause the premiere is getting closer!!! I’m from Brazil, so i speak portuguese. Nice to meet you, young lady!

ps: beer for me, but coffee is ok!

          • Kristina

Beer is cool, but i’m more of coffee person (iced caramel latte, my addiction really shhh). We have more theories before the premiere and the rest of the writers have plenty! Agree and disagree is what makes us pumped!

          • One-Eyed Willie

Now with the next trailer descriptions poping up on the internet, we’ve more material to theorize about! Selina master of disguises, huh? My head gears are burning!

  • One-Eyed Willie

Great PC as usual. Could be a little shorter, but it’s cool. Love Kristina’s style!

    • Kristina

How short like an hour’s worth? Or an hour and 15 mins? Thanks for listening and complimenting us.

      • One-Eyed Willie

One hour straight, like “in your face mode on” would be fine by me! IMRO

        • Kristina

Did you like episode 8, that was less than an hour? If we do more than an hour, we might do intermission music or something. I can’t guarantee it, but it is something we can discuss.

          • One-Eyed Willie

Yeah, cool! I’m a very dispersive guy, plus, the TDKR news is what interest me the most so…
