Jason Momoa, star of the Conan the Barbarian remake and Game of Thrones, was reportedly in negotiations for an unknown role in Batman vs. Superman. Momoa denied his involvement in a recent interview, claiming that they were simply rumors.

Last month, Hollywood Reporter revealed that Jason Momoa was in talks to star in Batman vs. Superman in an unknown role. Considering his large physique, rumors began to surface that the actor would be playing Doomsday or Martian Manhunter. Martian Manhunter’s appearance has been debunked by Batman on Film founder, Jett Ramey, while the Doomsday rumor is stands strong with producer Daniel Alter and Ramey helping to corroborate it.

Yesterday, another rumor was debunked that I wasn’t even aware was a rumor. In an interview with IGN, Momoa denied any involvement with Batman vs. Superman, speculating on its formation based on what could have been offhand comment about how he would have really liked to be involved.

He said:

“It’s just rumors. I want to say something amazing, but I can’t comment on rumors. It’s flattering. I’m not involved in it. Maybe that’s how it came out. Maybe someone said, ‘You should be in this!’ and I said, ‘Yeah that would be great!’ And it just went too far.”

He also revealed that he auditioned for the other comic book movie studio, vying for the role of another large alien, Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Maybe it’s my inexperience with Hollywood rags, but I really thought that I could bank on Momoa negotiating for the role. I really believed THR was one of the more respected and trustworthy news rags. Or… they just got a bad tip. Either way, I’m kind of disappointed that he’s not involved. I’ve never actually seen Momoa in anything, but his involvement gave credence to the Doomsday rumor.

What do you think? Are you disappointed that he’s not involved? Or do you believe the production is better off without him? Let me know.
